  10. I have been forced into this by people who keep phoning and writing to
  11. ask why APDL doesn't supply low cost CD's to complement our hard discs.
  12. Rather than trying to provide a comprehensive selection I have decided
  13. to supply ony a few items where I can do so at low prices.

  16. their normal prices. I no longer list them all here as prices do change.

  34. each CD per drive). Not only do you get a CD drive at a bargain price
  35. but you also get something to put in it!!

  42. These are the people who manufacture the excellent ICS IDE interface we
  43. sell. Their latest product is an ATAPI interface which will plug into a
  44. Podule socket on any machine which has one (A310, A4x0, A5000, Risc PC,
  45. even the A3000) and lets you connect one or two ATAPI IDE CD drives.
  46. Like all CD interfacces it won't works with all drives. This interface
  47. is self-configuring and comes complete with CDFS and data cables. If you
  48. want a second IDE drive with your RPC and don't want to go to the
  49. expense of SCSI this is an obvious low cost solution.

  51. A version which has IDEFS as well as CDFS is also available although
  52. it's more expensive (see the Hard Discs file). There is also an
  53. A3000/A3010/A3020/A4000 version so you can have an internal IDE hard
  54. disc and an external ATAPI CD.

  72. These are ATAPI drives for direct fitting to the RPC 700 series which
  73. have CDFS in ROM. They are fitted to the IDE interface so use up the
  74. second hard disc 'slot'. Prices include data and sound cables. These are
  75. ideal as a replacement for the (slow) drives supplied by Acorn. All
  76. drives have retaining clips so they can be used 'sideways'.

  104. with external case and power supply. This is ideal for A400 or A5000 (or
  105. even an A3000 where it uses the external expansion slot), and is a good
  106. solution if you have a single slice RPC and need the internal 5" bay for
  107. a second hard drive.

  117. I have discovered a source of a limited number of secondhand (but good
  118. condition) external cases with power supply. These were made by  IBM (so
  119. you can imagine how heavily they're built) and held a 5" floppy disc
  120. drive. If you are prepared to accept one of these instead of a new case
  121. then deduct £35 from the price of an external drive.
